2010 Camp Questionaire

 

 

WHEN:  Camp 1 - July 1-3, 2010 9:00 – 4:30

             Camp 2 - July 5-7, 20109:00 - 4:30

 

WHEREABCTC Agility Complex in Chippewa Falls, WI

Chippewa Falls is an easy 1.5 hour drive from Minneapolis and the Twin Cities International Airport.

 

 

WHO:  High Drive / High Intensity HANDLERS with strong work ethic looking to have FUN!  Dogs must be proficient on all obstacles, this is a competition camp and remedial obstacle training will not be part of the curriculum. Dogs must be performing full coursework.

FORMAT:  Each team will spend one full day with each instructor.  There will be 3 groups of 12 teams. Each group will work 2 days outdoors and 1 day indoors.  The outdoor sessions will be held rain or shine!

 

DETAILS:  Working spots are limited to 36 dog/handler teams per camp.  Working spots are $575.  You may deduct $25 if you pay in full when submitting the official registration form.  Auditing spots are available for $225 or $80 / day.  Lunch is included.  The focus of this camp will be handling, handling, and more handling with some dog training mixed in! 

 

REGISTRATION:  Each camp is limited to 36 teams.  To tentatively hold your spot pre-register by clicking HERE.   Your spot will only be guaranteed when your non-refundable/non-transferable deposit and official registration form are received.  The camp balance is due May 1, 2010.  Payment may be made by personal check, money order of cashier’s check in US funds.  If you choose either camp on the registration form, you will be notified by December 15 or before of which camp you were placed in.

Ann Braue
 

Ann made her agility debut in April 2002 after 10 years in the competition obedience ring.  She rose quickly to compete at the National and World level.  Ann has competed internationally five times; four for the AKC World Team at the FCI Agility World Championships and once as the USA Crufts representative.   In 2007, she along with her teammates Linda Mecklenburg and Carrie Jones won the silver medal at the FCI World Championships in Hamar, Norway.   Ann has competed the finals of many national events.  She is a five time USDAA National Champion winning the $10,000 Steeplechase three times, the Dog Agility Masters Team Tournament once and the Grand Prix of Dog Agility once.   

 Ann is highly sought after as a private instructor and seminar presenter.  Her gift of teaching is combined with passion, creativity and motivation  provides a fun and rewarding environment for both the dog and the handler.  Ann’s training philosophy focuses on positive reinforcement and building a strong relationship with the dog while at all times maintaining consistency.

Ann currently owns four border collies and several cats.  She resides in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with her husband Mark.   

Karen Holik

Karen currently owns 5 dogs, including three Shelties and two Border Collies. Her first dog (a Chow/Sheltie mix) became her first to receive the ADCH title in USDAA. She has also achieved this title with two of her shelties and her border collie. Karen’s consistency and ability to adapt her handling to various breeds and motivational levels can be seen by qualifying for the USDAA World Championships, and further proven by competing in the Finals over a dozen times with her shelties and border collie.

Her most recent accomplishments have been with ADCh MACh4 Triune’s Feelin Hot Hot Hot “Sizzle.” Together, Karen and Sizzle have been members of the AKC/USA World Team six times (France-2003, Spain-2005, Switzerland-2006, Norway-2007, Finland-2008 and Austria-2009). In September of 2009, she along with her teammates Jennifer Crank and Ashley Deacon won the Silver Medal at the FCI World Championship in Dornbirn, Austria. Sizzle is also a four-time USDAA World Champion, taking that honor twice in the Steeplechase event, once in the Grand Prix of Dog Agility and also the Dog Agility Masters Team Tournament. Her youngest sheltie, Plail’s Chill Factor “Ice,” has just started his competitive career and is sure to soon have his own list of accomplishments. Her new border collie “Siren” is just learning to be a puppy. Karen teaches private/group lessons and also travels the United States, as well as Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Mexico and Costa Rica, giving seminars.

 

Jennifer Crank

Jennifer Crank began training and showing dogs at the age of five.  She competed on obedience with her mother’s retired obedience sheltie, which then lead her into the sport of agility.  At the age of seven she earned her first agility title with the family sheltie, Lacey.   In 1993 Jenn got her first sheltie, Skittles, and earned her first MACh with her.  During that time she co-owned a sheltie breed champion and earned a MX and AXJ.  Skittles was bred and produced Guess and Splash (owned by her mother).  Both dogs have gone on to multiple MACHs.  Jenn and Guess were also chosen three times to the AKC World Team and represented the United States in the Agility World Championships in 2004, 2006 and 2007.  Guess and Jenn were individual silver medalists in 2006 and individual bronze medalists in 2007.  Jenn and Guess have also competed in AKC and USDAA national championships with numerous achievements including:  2nd place AKC Nationals 2005, 2nd place USDAA Performance National Standard, 2 time Performance Versatilty Pairs champion, and a finalist in multiple events.   In May 2009 Jenn made the AKC world team with her sheltie, Blaster.  After competing in Austria in September 2009 she came home with a Medium Team Silver Medal.

As a fulltime student at the Ohio State University , Jenn is majoring in business.    She plans to graduate in December of 2009.  She owns an agility training business, Incredipaws where she offers classes, privates, seminars and video consulting.  Jenn has been instructing agility classes and given agility seminars since 2002.  After graduation she plans to expand her business with more training opportunities available to students. 

Jenn has been training with her coach and mentor, Linda Mecklenburg since 1999.  She is a student of the Awesome Paws handling system and uses the system for a basis of her training and instructing.  Jenn  stays current on the Awesome Paws handling system through private lessons, seminars and camps.

Her mother assists her with her seminars and is a huge asset to her business.  She is responsible her helping Jenn learn her teaching skills and to grow as an instructor.  Her mom  has been her mentor encouraging her to reach for the stars and achieve her dreams.  She puts  the INCREDIPLE in Incredipaws!!!
